How to Safely Use Industrial Paints & Coating Products

Because polyurethane and epoxy might be harmful to one’s health, painters should follow the following guidelines:

Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in areas where paint is stored or used.
If you unintentionally swallow paint or thinner, don’t try to make yourself vomit; instead, get medical attention right away.
While applying paint or thinner, masks should be worn.
Ensure adequate ventilation for the application of paint in the designated area.
If ventilation is not possible, use an air-fed mask.
Avoid using a regular handkerchief to cover your mouth because it may not always serve as an air filter.
If you are experiencing headaches, inebriation, or dizziness, get out of the house as soon as possible.
Wear clothing that covers your entire body, as well as gloves and an eye shield.
If the paint gets on your clothes, change them right away and wash them with water.
After the painting, wash your lips and hands quickly.
